The Protected Disclosures Act, 2014 introduces some of the best workplace whistleblower protections on the planet with strong protections for workers who expose illegal practices and other specified wrongdoings that take place at work. IMPACT warmly welcomed the legislation, which was the successful culmination of a long trade union campaign. The law provides a framework of protections for people who are victimised, or threatened with victimisation, for revealing wrongdoing. But workers have to meet the criteria set out in the Act to ensure they are protected.
