Part-time workers

The Protection of Employees (Part-Time Work) Act, 2001 says that part-time employees, as defined under the Act, cannot be treated in a less favourable manner than a comparable full-time employee in relation to conditions of employment. All emp loyee protection legislation applies to part-time staff in the manner it applies to full-time employees. Any qualifying conditions (except for any hours thresholds) that apply to full-time employees in the legislation also apply to part-time employees.
