24/7 confidential counselling helpline


This confidential telephone counselling service can deal with problems including marital or relationship problems, bereavement, family concerns, bullying, alcohol or drug abuse and many other issues. This service is available to IMPACT members and immediate family members. There is no limit to the number of calls you can make. Total anonymity is guaranteed. Calls are not recorded and no information is passed to any third party.

Fully-qualified professional and confidential counsellors provide independent and non-judgmental support. The helpline is available for urgent calls 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. If necessary, counsellors will arrange up to six scheduled follow-up calls of up to an hour’s duration with the same counsellor. These calls are available between 9.30am and 4pm, Monday to Friday. In situations where telephone counselling is not suitable, counsellors will inform you about appropriate voluntary or professional services (the union cannot meet the cost of services you are referred on to).
