IMPACT workplace representatives’ training

2016-2017 applications open


IMPACT is now inviting applications for the 2016-2017 phase of its level one ‘Making an IMPACT’ workplace representatives’ training modules, which get under way in September 2016. Almost 500 IMPACT members have so far graduated from the training, which helps them to be confident and effective workplace representatives.

Courses will be run on the following dates:

Dublin 20th September 2016, 19th October 2016, 8th November, 2016, and 6th December 2016
Limerick 19th October 2016, 22nd November 2016, 6th December 2016, 12th January 2017
Galway/Sligo 16th November 2016, 13th December 2016, 11th January 2017, 16th February 2017
Cork 7th December 2016, 10th January 2017, 7th February 2017, 9th March 2017

This course is provided for IMPACT members who are interested in becoming a workplace representative, or existing representatives who want to improve their skills and knowledge. You don’t need to have previous experience in the union, but your application should demonstrate your willingness and potential to become an effective IMPACT representative.

Participants are expected to attend all four course modules, which are:

  • Module 1 – IMPACT and how it works
  • Module 2 – Effective communications
  • Module 3 – Building union strength
  • Module 4 – Representing members and dealing with management.
