Retirement grace period extended

IMPACT has welcomed a Government decision to extend the retirement grace period, set out in the Haddington Road agreement, until 30th June 2015.


Incremental credit for long-term acting ruled out

The Labour Court has said it will not award backdated incremental credit in cases where long-term acting positions are regularised.


Public service pay down; private sector stagnant

Average hourly earnings in the public sector have fallen by 5.4% since the end of 2008 according to new official data. Weekly public service earnings decreased at nearly the same rate (5.1%), or just under €50 a week.


Plan says savings can be reinvested in public services

IMPACT general secretary Shay Cody has welcomed a commitment in the Government’s new public service reform plan for 2014-2016, which says resources saved through more efficient service delivery can be reinvested in improved public services. 


New sick leave protocol published

A protocol on how new public service certified sick leave arrangements will be applied has been published. IMPACT has also issued a ‘your questions answered’ document to clarify what the new arrangements will mean for members.
