Consultations planned on overtime and premium payments

Public service leave to be capped at 32 days

New Government proposals, which envisage no cuts in leave for the great majority of public servants, will mean that no existing public servant gets more than 32 days leave from next year. The cap, which will fall to 30 days for new entrants, would come into effect in 2012. Read more HERE.
Waste privatisation dispute for Labour Court

IMPACT’s dispute over Dublin City Council’s proposals to outsource its waste collection service is destined for the Labour Court after a Labour Relations Commission (LRC) hearing failed to make progress. Meanwhile, the union has continued to lobby the city’s councillors, who have convened a special meeting with the city manager on the issue. Read more HERE.
Dublin councillors oppose waste privatisation

Dublin City councillors have overwhelmingly passed a motion opposing the city manager’s plans to outsource the waste collection service. The motion was passed after IMPACT circulated councillors with a position paper setting out the consequences of outsourcing – higher charges, the end of waivers, and risks to public safety and the environment. Refuse privatisation will mean higher charges and an end to waivers

Dublin City Council’s proposal to outsource its waste collection service will inevitably lead to higher charges for waste collection and the end of waivers, according to IMPACT. This will lead to substantial hardship for residents, including over 37,000 of the city’s poorest families who currently qualify for waivers. Read more HERE.
IMPACT welcomes Labour Court decision on Dublin Fire Service

IMPACT trade union, one of the unions representing fire-fighters in Dublin Fire Brigade, has welcomed the Labour Court decision today (Monday) concerning a dispute about cost savings. The union had disputed Dublin City Council’s moves to introduce further cost saving measures in addition to a finalised agreement on cost savings made in June 2011 under the terms of the Public Service (Croke Park) Agreement 2010-2014. Threat to Swords ambulance service averted

No proposal for three-day week in Dublin City Council
