Civil service PMDS changes agreed

Public service leave to be capped at 32 days

New Government proposals, which envisage no cuts in leave for the great majority of public servants, will mean that no existing public servant gets more than 32 days leave from next year. The cap, which will fall to 30 days for new entrants, would come into effect in 2012. Read more HERE.
IMPACT deplores assaults on staff in IFA protest

New approach to civil service performance management promised

The Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform has approved a proposed new approach to implementing civil service performance management, which would punish managers who fail to fully complete the performance management and development system (PMDS) for all staff. Read more HERE.
Redeployment discussed at civil service implementation body

Civil service privilege days likely to merge with annual leave

A report by the civil service Croke Park arbitration board has said management put forward “no clearly reasoned explanation” for its proposals to abolish privilege days. Civil servants currently get two privilege days, one each at Christmas and Easter. Read more HERE.
Civil Service implementation body agrees priority issues

The Department of Finance and civil service unions have agreed to immediately implement a number of modernisation measures under the Croke Park agreement. They include a strengthening of performance management systems, including initiatives aimed at tackling underperformance. Read more HERE
