IMPACT seeks clarity on special needs job losses

IMPACT has written to the Minister for Education, Batt O’Keefe seeking clarity on the proposed reduction of special needs assistants (SNA) posts on 31st January. Based on figures released last June, the union estimates that as many as 1,200 posts will be shed. more
Deduction at source of union subscriptions
Deduction at source of union subscriptions is now available from the Department of Education and Science. The SNA branch is currently in the process of issuing authorisation forms to members. You can download a copy of the form HERE ![]()
Working Hours
A number of schools have experienced difficulties around working hours, with managements stating that SNA's are required to work a 32 hour week. This is not the case. more
Value for Money and Policy Review
The Branch has made a submission to the Value for Money and Policy Review. This Body is currently engaged in visiting schools and collection data on the operation of the SNA service. more
