IMPACT member Des Mullally has today (Wednesday) been elected as a worker-director on the Dublin airport authority board. Des won 203 first preference votes and was elected on the fourth count with 261 votes. The quota was 251.
Des, who works in retail at Dublin airport, campaigned as an experienced, hard-working employee who knows the company well and understands staff issues. His campaign majored on job security, pensions and effective worker representation on the board.
“I want to thank those who voted for me and assure all daa staff that I will work hard on their behalf. I also want to congratulate my fellow worker-directors and all the candidates. This is a challenging time for the company’s staff and I intend to ensure that they are effectively represented on the board,” he said.
