To: All IMPACT members required to work “sleepovers”
Youremployer is breaking the law in requiring you to work multiple sleepover duties. Most, if not all, of you will be familiar with minimum working weeks of 63 hours of combined duties.
Working these kinds of hours is in breach of working time legislation, and your employer is responsible for that breach. Because employers continue to breach the legislation, IMPACT is pursuing a case through the Labour Relations Commission (LRC) and has made a complaint to the European Court of Justice.
At this time, it is vital that we work together in order to achieve a successful outcome. I would urge you to attend this meeting and find out how you can get involved. Employers have, for far too long, exploited a situation that needs to stop. Together, we can make that happen.
