Childminding Ireland dispute referred to Workplace Relations Commission

IMPACT has agreed to attend a Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) mediation meeting on the dispute over compulsory redundancies at Childminding Ireland. The union understands that management at the Kilcoole-based agency sought a meeting through the WRC following IMPACT’s successful demonstration at the Department of Children and Youth Affairs last Tuesday (21st June).

The WRC meeting is due to commence at 9am tomorrow (Friday).

IMPACT official Stella Griffin said neither the union, nor its members in Childminding Ireland, had received any contact from the agency’s management since their strike got underway on 7th June.
